Hi Mark,
I tried to reply to you at your hotmail account but it bounced back.

I just saw your comment you posted on the Pittsburgh Job Search Buzz Blog. I am currently merging that blog with A Recruiters Tips on Job Searching so please be sure to check out all of the job searching strategies and tips there.

I am sorry to hear you are still job searching, it's been rough the beginning of this year, I too was in between recruiting projects and know how difficult it is to job search. My website: Pittsburgh's Ultimate Career Connection, is more of a resource website for job seekers, so you would benefit from seeing the listings of local networking groups, local job listings, and a lot of free job searching tips and strategies.

I offer services to assist job seekers acting as a Job Search Trainer/Mentor, I am not sure if that is something you would be interested in. You can choose from 2 Packages or consulting with me through email/phone.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you,

Cori Swidorsky

If possible get an outside set of eyes to read through it. A professional grammar editor would help you present your best face to the world as they are likely to correct all the misspelled words and awkward phrases.

I'm sorry that it's been so frustrating getting your foot in the door, especially since you have great references and experience.
I don't think there are any "secrets" I think there are a lot of factors involved with getting into a company. The obvious would be Networking! which I'm guessing you already know since you are here on LinkedIn.

Are you utilizing LinkedIn to research companies, to contact people at those companies, networking with other job seekers, and networking with those who are doing what you already do in Pittsburgh? If not, then you are missing a great way to get your foot in the door to a Pittsburgh company.

Unfortunately the competition is high when it comes to applying to companies, who knows if your experience and references are even being seen by the right people, so you want to make sure that it is being seen. There are many opportunities out there that are not advertised and sometimes you can make a great connection with a hiring manager and they realize you are a MUST have in their company, and they create an opportunity for you.

In order to get noticed, you need to make sure you are getting noticed, so my question to you is what are you doing different than all of the other job seekers out there to get you noticed over them ?
